4 inch yummy pie!

September 22nd, 2007 | Category: Uncategorized

I forgot to mention that after water aerobics we went to cruisers cafe and had some supper. I had a half pound burger with fries. I finished the whole thing. After Cruisers we went to The pine country restaurant. They are known for their awesome pies. Well dad said that the Peanut butter chocolate banana pie was yummy. So We tried it and we liked it, but it was very rich.

Dad, Melanie and I split a piece and mom had her own piece. They were literally 4 inches tall.  But they were sooo good. After we left there we went straight home and went to bed….It felt good to have a bed after playing in that river.

Well talk to you later.

I jumped off a cliff!!

September 22nd, 2007 | Category: Uncategorized

Yesterday was soo much fun…In Sedona we went to find some hiking trails. We found one trail that looked suitable, And we looked over the side of the trail we saw  a river or stream.  We had our bathing suits with us because after Sedona we  had to go straight to water Aerobics.  We saw that you could go into the river and they had these slides made out of rocks.

Dad  drove ahead and saw the sign it was called SLIDE ROCK NATIONAL PARK.  We drove in there and put on our bathing suits and headed for the river. We walked down the rock stairs that were pretty steep and had to pass a few people to get down there.

When we got down there, the water was freezing cold, but we had to find a way to get used to it.  So we went into what we thought was the shallow end and tried walking from rock to rock.  I was the first one to slip…I landed on my back and I got all wet.  It was fun. Melanie slipped on her butt after I had slipped on my back.

Melanie went first on the slide. It was really deep and rough when you went on that thing that’s for sure. But I was worth it. After we went down the slide, we went to this cliff. It wasn’t very high, but It was still pretty high from standing on the top. The cliff was only about 6 or 8 feet.

I chickened out on the first jump.  The second jump dad said we had to go and so I jumped in with dad… I was scrambling for the edge because I saw some fish. It was so much fun, that I wanted  to do it again.  So I jumped in on my own  and was one of the bravest kids there. Melanie and I were the only kids that jumped in from the cliff. Well at least while we were there. It was cool.

Well talk to you later.

Swimming!!!

September 21st, 2007 | Category: Uncategorized

Well on the 19th we went swimming at the Williams aquatic center. It was great!!! Since the Campground we are staying at doesn’t have a pool due to an electrical storm we were sooo Happy that we got to go swimming. The swimming pool let us use anything we wanted… I played with the…Flippers!!! Those are my favorite thing on the face of the earth..They help me swim faster.  That way if a fish comes close to me….Never mind… they don’t have fish in the pool…Hee hee.

Well, enough about that… ‘_’.  (hey I just made a Marilyn Monroe face!!!)  Well Anyways… I swam a few lapswith the filippers on…I was out of breath when I finished though..I only did about two laps…But that’s because of the altitude..We are 67 00 feet up..That’s double the elevation of calgary.

well on the 20th we went to the grand canyon…It is Huge!!!!!! Way bigger than I thought. I climbed for a bit with dad and we climbed about 50 feet up and I was sooo exhausted.  We went to desert view…It was cool.. We climbed sown a lot and it was  so much fun.

Oh ya! I forgot to mention that we went to bedrock..That’s Flintstones town.  It was purdy neat. I went into fred and Wilma’s house, Barney and Betty’s house and we saw dino. We went down this dinosaur slide thing and it was so steep! I went down it soo fast.I shrieked! Well that was fun.

Today we are going to take water aerobics for gym and we are going to swim. I think it will be fun. I have never done water aerobics before. I am soo Excited for that. I love pools… This pool is the best so far and I love the flippers..Like I said..Those are my favorite part.

Well talk to you later

Time to go Back in time to the… 50’s!!

September 17th, 2007 | Category: Uncategorized

Well yesterday we went to route 66. We went all the way back to Kingman where Hackberry’s general store is. That is the store where lizzie the crazy car from cars the movie is. It was neat. we also saw the hudson hornet… or Doc hudson. He was really shiny. We went and had some pie and carrot cake at the Roadkill Cafe. One of the menu items were crisped toad. ” dried up toad on the side of the road” yea it was actually nachos with melted cheese on it. It sounded gross, but appetizing at the same time.

Well the carrot cake was good that was the first time I had ever eaten it. It was yummy! I also had some vanilla bean Ice cream it was good. Melanie put a picture of me going to the bathroom in her blog and mom told her to block out my thighs and the thing above and behind my thighs. I was mad at her, but cracking up at the same time… GO MOM !!!! She saved me from a lot of embarrassment. Well We had a fun time on route 66 let’s just say that.

Well today we just did school… I did my science and social homework for tomorrow , today.. That’s the fun of this school. We sometimes only have about 2-3 hours a school.. Ha Ha In your face miranda and Jen and Jessica and Kelsey!!! Just kidding…But It’s still in your face. Anyways enough about that. Tonight we are probably having a fire and playing cranium so there isn’t much to report except that when I said  I really have to pee when we got to the roadkill cafe… He said that it rules to be a guy and that with him he just stands a few feet away from a bush and lets her fly… Anyways…

Lots of things to talk about. :-P

September 15th, 2007 | Category: Uncategorized

Well where do I get started? Let’s see, on September 3rd we had a veg day… Can’t quite remember what we did on the veg day, I just remember that we had a veg day. It was very warm as we were in Las Vegas that week. As everybody may not know, it is a desert in Las Vegas! The coldest we ever got was about 35 degrees Celsius. Thank goodness the Hitchin’ post rv park in Las Vegas had a pool, that is where we spent most of our time.

On September 4th we started orientation for school. It was pretty neat. Well at least we didn’t have homework… But we still had to do lots of things for orientation. We had about 15 things we had to do for orientation. We had to have all things for orientation done by midnight on September 7. It was quite a bit of work, but I wanted them all done by September 5th, because if we had them all done by then, we got to spend all of the time in the pool until school started. Well after orientation was over, we went swimming for a few hours, and after we finished swimming, we hasd to go get a neck brace for dad… If you didn’t already know this, my dad was catching a wave in the ocean, and had his arms by his side, and the wave took him, and he smashed his face against the sand. He had this really disgusting cut, (so disgusting that every time I looked at it I would shudder) but he said that his neck hurt more than his face. Any who… He is doing much better now, and he doesn’t need his neck brace anymore.

On September 5th, all we did was swim. Dad never swam of course because of his cut and neck, but all of us as in mom, melanie and I were all swimming laps… Well mom was, Melanie and I were just kind of swimming back and forth in our own style that wasn’t any form of stroke, we just swam under the water and did like flips and stuff. It was pretty fun. It felt nice to get out of the sun and heat, it was just over 37 degrees Celsius!

On September 6th we went to the famous Hoover dam. (I personally didn’t like it I don’t recommend it, but that is my opinion.) The dam was pretty big, and you can drive over it, but if you drive over it, you can’t see over the sides. If you want to see the dam, take the tour, you might even happen to spot a pink jeep driving around there. ;-P After the hoover dam, we went to lake mead. It is the lake that leads to the Hoover dam. The lake was actually very warm, and the water gets there by the ice melting in the mountains. Mom says she saw a fish, and it freaked me out, and so i ran out of there as fast as my sorry little butt could go. But I forgot all about it and hopped back into the lake, and let me tell you, I never got off of that tube. After lake mead, we went into Las Vegas, just on the strip though, you’d be surprised at how many homeless people there are because of all that gambling, so we just stayed on the strip. We went under this cool roof thing, and the roof had a screen on it and when we got there, they were just starting a little video thing, and it was about aliens, from the Area 51 Idea. .Lots of people believe in aliens, so they don’t even want to go near Area 51.

Speaking of Area 51, on September 7 we went to area 51. It was kind of boring actually… All it is, is a sign that says do not trespass, those who do, will either get shot, or get put in jail for a least five years. It also said that you are not allowed to get pictures of the sign and you cannot draw the sign either. And you now what sucked even more??? We drove over three hours just to see that sign! Ridiculous? I think so! Well the good thing about it was that we went to this restaurant called the little a-le-inn. It was pretty good. I recommend that restaurant, 1. because it’s cheap, 2. the people there are very friendly, (either they are really friendly, or they are just really drunk… Just kidding, but there is a bar there and I don’t think they will get super drunk anyways) Any who, the drive back was kinda nice, we got to watch a few episodes of the Beverly Hill Billies. (My favorite movie now) It made me crack up so much, the grandma is my favorite, she reminds me of Memere Rocan. When we got home, I was out like a flash o lightning.

On September 8th we cleaned the trailer, which took a little while but not as long as it would take to clean the house in Calgary! After the trailer was cleaned we got dressed and headed for Vegas again. Can’t really remember what we did in Vegas, I think we just walked through the strip, and through a Hotel, that had a casino, that really smelled like cigarettes, so much so that when we got back to the truck I felt very lightheaded, anyways in the hotel, we saw this really cool thing on the ceiling, they looked like little jellyfish or umbrellas. Umbrellas or jellyfish things

Click on this and you can see what I am talking about.

On September 9th we went to a casino called Circus circus. The unique thing about this casino is that it is 2 floors and the first floor is all casino, and the second floor is all arcade. I won two prizes at circus circus. I won A pair of fuzzy black dice, and a fuzzy fish. My prizes

It was very fun.

On September 10th all we did was swim again because it was 40 something that day and we just wanted to cool off. I did something that I shouldn’t have done, because if I had stayed under water for even 10 seconds more, I would have passed out. I was doing a balance beam act on the bottom of the deep end, which was 9 feet deep, and I was flipping and doing cartwheels and when I came up, I was gasping for air. My face felt like it was blue. Well we swam there for about 4 hours and when we were finished we had supper and just wandered off into our rooms by ourselves.

On September 11th we swam for about 3 hours and then we went to New York New York in Vegas. It was pretty neat, except for the fact that we walked through a bridge and after that, that was about all of New York New York. After that we went to Paris… That’s also in Vegas. We had some Ice cream, because it was 35+ outside. Dad said I could have some, even though I am allergic. I had oreo cookie Ice cream. It was soo good! After that, we went home and I basically fell asleep.

On September 12th we went to the valley of fire. It was blistering hot again, but It was worth it. I climbed and it was fun. I got my picture taken a lot, but that is okay I guess. We saw a lot of cool rocks there, they were red. Go to this website to see the picture of the valley of fire.

On September 13th we drove to Williams Arizona. It was pretty frustrating. We got to a flying jay about 2 hours away from Williams, and we decided to have some pizza at the restaurant they had in there. We ordered two pizzas, and it took over an hour just to make two pizzas. We waited for about 1 hour and 20 minutes just to eat a few pizzas. We got to our Koa kampground, at about 11 o’clock when we could’ve gotten there at around 9:30 to 10 o’ clock. Anyways, we got to bed very easily though.

Well yesterday, the 14th we went to the grand canyon. holy cow was that thing huge!!! that is way bigger than the ones we have in drum heller!  No joke! We climbed for about 30 minutes, and we didn’t even get 100 feet down into the canyon. Going back up was the hardest and the worst part. I climbed about 10 feet up, and I was already out of breath, that’s how steep it was. after the grand canyon, we went to cruisers cafe on route 66. It was neat! I tried zucchini. It was gross! I decided to stick to the cheese sticks instead. Well we got home at about 11 again, but that’s okay. We didn’t have school anyways.

USS Midway in San Diego

September 03rd, 2007 | Category: Uncategorized

Well yesterday, we went to the USS midway. It was a big boat. It was as long as a cruise ship, but not as tall, cruise ships have about 11 floors, this one had 18 decks, but only about 5 floors. It was such a long walk from one end to the other. we had just started our audio tour, when I had to go to the bathroom, I had to walk about a mile to get to the bathroom. It was so long! I got to sit in an airplane that was used in world war 2. It was very worn down on the inside. I sat pretty low so you can’t really see my head.  I thought Alcatraz was more interesting than this, but I would still recommend this place for all those plane lovers… Kelly Nightingale  this place is for you.  well gonna turn in for the night… Talk to you later.
